You’ll go Blind- Does Watching Television Close-up Really Harm Eye Sight

This is actually one of the biggest myths of the 21st century. It may come as a shock to many but the truth of the matter is that such type of television viewing has got not effects on the human body or the mind. The reason for this long standing fear is very simple. Long back there was a television set which was introduced. It was faulty and used to emit radiations in high levels, the levels where indeed much higher than federal rules. The television set was immediately brought back and replaced. At that time, it was common to tell the children not to watch the television set closely and their fear was real. But even when the set was replaced, the fear stuck.

This has been handed down from generations. Even ophthalmologists will tell us that poor eye sight has got nothing to do with the rays emitted by the T.V set. It is more on the parameters of the eye. It is true that eye sight will reduce momentarily after watching television closely since it is bright and direct. But after a good night’s sleep, the eyes will be in perfect shape.
