Swedish girl regains her Face after Tragic Allergic Reaction
A 19 year old girl in Sweden suffered a freakish allergic reaction to Paracetamol, which caused her face to turn completely black and fall off. You need not panic regarding Paracetamol, as this is an allergic reaction which has chances of occurring one in a million cases. This reaction was mainly caused due to the combination of a type of viral fever and Paracetamol pills, which were taken to relieve the fever.
The initial reactions were blisters all over the body, starting from her face. This condition is known as Lyell’s syndrome or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis and is known to be fatal in 4 cases out of 10. After the blisters appear the skin turns black due to burning and eventually scabs form. There is no way to stop this condition and one has to be patient and let it run its course. After about 4 years of treatment the Swedish girl’s face has made a complete recovery without any major side effects or disfigurement. This case although freakish is still known to affect one in a million people, and is a terrifying experience.
