Stop Smoking With Water Therapy

Submitted by on Wednesday, 9 July 2008No Comment

If you really intend to stop your addiction to smoking, then quitting is always possible. If you do not put your heart into the task, no treatment will work for you. Quitting any habit is difficult, but it is possible if you truly resolve to. In smoking, a relatively inexpensive and effective way is water treatment therapy.
If you have tried all other suggestions and are at the end of your wits trying to figure out the magic cure, then try water therapy. The reason you crave to smoke is not because of the cigarette per se. You are addicted to nicotine – the substance found in a cigarette stick. It is like a drug, a nasty, socially accepted drug. You habitually look for your nicotine fix, and more so when you are under a lot of stress.

Water, our most precious natural resource, is used not just to quench our thirst, but also to flush out and clean our system. The desire to reach out for that cigarette, or to sneak a puff from the cigarette of someone can be controlled with water. Since water can flush out toxins, it will help suppress that urge you have to light one. Try drinking a glass or two when you feel the urge coming on. Initially, you have to expect that the urge to smoke will constantly be bugging you. That is just the withdrawal phase. Basically, your body has to get used to not having nicotine absorbed into your system. Think of it as renewal.

Since it is considered water therapy treatment, the urges you will go through should be treated with water. Have a bottle of water with you everywhere you go. Suppose you make a mistake and give in to your craving, get back track, and flush out the toxins immediately with water.

Nothing worthwhile can be had easily. Earlier stated, if you really want to do this, you have to work with the program. For some, it may take a shorter time to finish, but for others, it may take a while. Remember that the longer you have been a smoker, the harder it will be to get rid of the habit.

Before you start the water therapy treatment, you have to prepare yourself, psychologically, that you want to give up the habit. What the mind can conceive, the body will follow. Tell yourself the truth – you are an addict. Remind yourself that it is a silent killer. Finally, smell yourself. Would you not want to go back to smelling fresh and young again?
