New data on the tobacco shows that it is a fertile ground for germs of various different types. This means that the smoker is exposed to these germs even if he has not lit the cigarette. This is bad news for those who smoke. It has been argued that once the tobacco burns any living germs will be incinerated. But this may just not be true. The point is that once the cigarette is lit, there is a distance between the lit end and the mouth. The bacteria can comfortably enter the mouth. All these points seem to suggest that the cigarette is indeed a potent and well structured killer. There is not a single point in the favour if cigarette smoking, this new discovery is another nail on the coffin. Even then tobacco sales are breaking records all over the world. The addiction seems to be a global phenomenon and the number of people dying is astronomical.
