in a recent development in Brazil, the health minister has asked his country men to practise more sex to control the immense increase in blood pressure cases in the country. He said that adults need to exercise more to ensure that their blood sugar levels and their weight is in control. Sex forms a very important part of this work is what he said. Minister Jose Temporao says that adults should involve in protected sex more often to ensure that their body is fitter.

he also recommended people to take up dancing and a healthy diet to control the epidemic spread of obesity and high blood pressure. even though the public announcement of these steps is a little bit on the raw side, it is proven that sex and intense work outs coupled with dancing can help a person reduce weight and gain higher metabolic rates.

Study conducted on behalf of the Federal Commission for Children and Youth found that more 12 to 14-year-olds were having sex, in comparison with the 1990s and that they did not use sufficient protection when having sex. This has led to an introduction of an extra-small condom created by Lamprecht AG, a leading condom manufacturer in Switzerland, called ‘Hotshot.’ 1,480 people aged 10 to 20 were interviewed for this study.
Nysse Norballe, a spokesman for the company, said: “At the moment we are only producing the Hotshot in Switzerland. But the UK is certainly a very attractive market since there is a very high rate of underage conception. The UK would definitely be top priority if we marketed abroad.”
According to a German study of 12,970 13 to 20-year-olds, a quarter said a standard condom was too large.
Nancy Bodmer, who headed the research, said: “The result that shocked us concerned young boys who display apparently risky behaviour. They have more of a tendency not to protect themselves. They do not have a very developed sexual knowledge. They do not understand the consequences of what they are doing and leave the young girls to take care of the consequences. The results of this study suggest that early prevention makes sense.”

Having safe sex is a precaution everyone should take, given the many STIs one can contract. Most people are scared of contracting HIV the most, but there are many more STIs which are just as risky, that one can contract without penetrative sex.

For every penetrative vaginal sex act, ensure that you have a condom on. This should be worn before any genital contact because an erect penis for instance, contains germs and sperms that can cause infection or pregnancy if they come into contact with the vagina.

If you are having anal sex, you need to wear an ultra-strong condom. Couple this with an effective lubricant to keep the condom from bursting. Non-spermicidally-lubricated condoms are best for anal sex, especially those with a silicone or water-based lubricant. If you are moving from anal to vaginal, make sure you change the condom. It is safer to move from the vagina to the anus if there is no spare condom.

Cover any cuts, lesions and sores with latex gloves or waterproof plasters during foreplay. This is very important especially if the woman is on her periods, or if foreplay involves anal stimulation. Always wash your hands when moving from the anus to the vagina, in the event that you have no gloves on.

Nearly every woman hits a low in their sex life at some point in their life. If you are at this point and are wondering how you will ever recover your once high libido, there are a few things you could do to change the situation. First off, it helps to talk to your gynecologist because different factors come to play in a woman’s sexual experience. Things like the neuroendocrine system as well as social circumstances have a direct influence on a woman’s sex life.

If you do not have any prevailing medical conditions, take these easy steps to experience higher libido.

Mange any stress you may have. Stress could be triggered by a couple of things such a stressful job, onset of menopause, dealing with growing children among others. Get into a stress management exercise which involves mindfulness techniques. You will be amazed at how different you feel when you have no issues pressing on your mind.

Get into an exercise plan. It will work best if you can get your husband to exercise with you. It works well in most cases.

Try out aphrodisiacal foods and herbs. Get your doc to recommend some really good ones.

For quick results, a jab of testosterone may be all you need! Check out more tips from the source site.

A new study was conducted to reveal the nuances of sexuality in the elderly and the study found that many senior citizens actually have very rewarding sexual lives.
“Individuals with strong, functioning sexual and intimate relationships will have better trajectories of health and well-being than those whose relationships function less well or who lack such relationships,” wrote Linda J. Waite of the University of Chicago in a special supplemental issue of The Journals of Gerontology.

The studies in this journal issue were part of the National Social Life, Health, and Aging Project and were conducted in 2005 and 2006 at the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.
“One of the most noteworthy features of reports of sexual problems is their relative similarity across all age groups,” Waite wrote. “If [women] continue to be sexually active they appear not to be much more likely to have problems with sexual function at older than at younger ages … sexually active older men seem to function at much the same level as sexually active younger men, with a few exceptions, not all of which favor younger men.”

Condoms are known as the best preventives for unwanted pregnancies and many Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) like HIV, gonorrhea, Chlamydia and trichomoniasis. However, it was not considered as important in preventing genital herpes, also a STD. A recent study has found that using condoms helps in bringing down the risk of herpes by 30%.

The earlier assumption of the ineffectiveness of condoms in preventing herpes was based on the fact that it can be transmitted through the exposed skin not covered by the condom. To ascertain the exact effect of condoms at preventing herpes, a study examined the data of more than 5,000 people. The study participants were two-thirds male and 94% heterosexual.

All the participants were free from herpes when the study began. In the next 12 to 19 months, 415 of them contracted herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV 2), the virus responsible for genital herpes. Among the group that always used condoms without fail, the risk of the disease was found to be 30% less than those who did not use them.

Even though 30% is not a large margin of protection as in other STDs, it still can offer benefit for individuals. Dr. Emily T. Martin, Children’s Hospital Research Institute, University of Washington, and lead author of the study claims that thirty percent is only partial protection, but still a protection.

The researchers found that the risk was reduced by 7% for percent “every additional 25 percent of the time condoms were used during anal or vaginal sex”. The risk also increased with the frequency of unprotected sex. Another fact revealed by the study is that there is no gender discrimination in condom efficacy.

Martin’s advice is to use condoms when unsure of the STD status of the partner.

Women with high emotional intelligence are proven by research to have better sex lives than their counterparts who are less emotionally evolved. A study has found that women in touch with their feelings have twice as many orgasms as inhibited sorts.
A study reported in The Daily Mail newspaper in the UK, could lead to new ways of counseling the 40 per cent of women who find it difficult or impossible to enjoy sex fully.
Researcher Tim Spector of King’s College London said there were definite advantages to being a touchy-feely type.

“These findings show that emotional intelligence is an advantage in many aspects of your life, including the bedroom,” he said.
The study was conducted by surveying more than 2,000 female twins, aged between 18 and 83, about their sex lives. They were asked to rate their ability to reach orgasm on a seven-point scale, ranging from “never” to “always”.
The participants of the study were also asked to fill a questionnaire which was designed to gauge their emotional intelligence and covered many traits such as self expression, empathy and contentment.
Those most in touch with their feelings had the most orgasms, was the conclusion reached by the study.
Lead author, psychologist Andrea Burri, also of King’s College, London, said: “Emotional intelligence seems to have a direct impact on women’s sexual functioning by influencing her ability to communicate her sexual expectations and desires to her partner.’”
Relationship expert Dr Pam Spurr, whose books include Sizzling Sex and Fabulous Foreplay, said: ‘It is not easy, the way we express ourselves is very habitual and affects our relationships and sexual relationships.

‘It is not about waving a magic wand, it takes someone who is committed to learning new ways of communicating, to being open to intimacy and to putting their emotional self out there.”
This had led to new hope in finding effective treatments infertility in men. But more importantly, this could lead to the development of a male version of contraceptive pill.
Currently the only options for men are condoms or a surgical vasectomy, which is irreversible. A number of attempts at creating a male version of the Pill have been tried so far, but none have been successfully developed.
As a matter of fact, this faulty gene was found by accident. Researchers from the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in Tehran, in Iran, were looking for gene defects linked to inherited deafness and stumbled upon the faulty gene while studying a population in Iran. They found two families were carrying a mutation in the CATSPER1 gene so the protein is missing or not functioning properly.
Dr Michael Hilddebrand, co author of the study from University of Iowa, said: “We have identified CATSPER1 as a gene that is involved in non-syndromic male infertility in humans, a finding which could lead to future infertility therapies that replace the gene or the protein. But perhaps even more importantly, this finding could have implications for male contraception.”
“Identification of targets such as the CATSPER1 gene that are involved in the fertility process and are specific for sperm – potentially minimising the side effects of a drug targeting the protein’s function – provide new targets for a pharmacological male contraceptive.”
There is a possibility that a drug could be created that could be made to stick to the CATSPER1 protein and prevent it from working properly. This would result in the man producing abnormal sperm which is unable to fertilize an egg.
The authors warned that this kind of treatment, known as immunocontraception, is still in its infancy and in order to be useful it would need to be safe, effective and reversible.

Sexually transmitted infection (STI) or venereal disease (VD) is an illness that has a significant probability of transmission between humans or animals by means of sexual contact. Sexually Transmitted Diseases or VD, in recent years is known as sexually transmitted infection (STI) as it has a broader range of meaning. It could mean that a person may be infected, and may potentially infect others, without showing signs of disease.

For long, there has been a misconception that STI are prevalent in young women and the older one gets, the lesser the chance of getting infected. This notion has lead to many middle aged people neglecting the possibility of getting infected and ignoring protection. According to a latest data, in the past decade sexually transmitted diseases have doubled in adults over the age of 45. The alarming part of this increase is that the spread of STI’s is rising at a faster rate in adults than in the young. A recent studied has re-enforced this and has shown proof that the middle aged adults had acquired an irresponsible attitude towards their sexual health. A poll was conducted wherein over 2000 adults between the ages of 45 and 54 were questioned about their sexual habits, especially protection related issues.

Based on the study, the results show that nearly a fifth of those adults who took part in the research have had unprotected sex with someone who is not their long-term partner in the past five years. The reasons for this relaxed attitude are that many adults believe that acquiring an infection during middle age is very unlikely and also that the chance of women conceiving during middle age is very low. About quarter of those polled were of the opinion that they trusted their partners to not have an infection. Overall, the researchers found the older generation was flippant about the risks of acquiring an STI. This research throws light on the importance of educating the adults along with the young about the dangers of unprotected sex and its irreversible consequences.
