Alzheimer’s disease Imaged Long Before Symptoms Appear

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most serious illnesses which afflict millions of people above the age of 65. It is a debilitating mental illness and it can cause a lot of stress and problems. It involves the gradual loss of memory and then it become severe. It can even lead to untimely loss of motor functioning and death. It has been understood very less and this is the reason there is a lot of interest regarding it.

Research has been going on for a long time now to find out the reasons, causes and effects of this devastating illness. UCLA University have been able to map the nerve structure of the brain and image the neurons which seem to be affected by Alzheimer’s much before there are any symptoms seen. This is one of the biggest breaks through in the field of Alzheimer’s research. It is has generated a lot of interest and this is because we will be able to develop an early warning system. This allows us to buy time so that we can take precautionary measures. The technology which has been used is the same type of system used to map the brain but here certain minor changes have made the difference.
